Entity effects

Faster, stronger, deadlier are just some of the possibilities.


The /effect command allows status effects to be cast on players or other entities. Many of the the effects can be given by elements already in the game, such as potions, food or spells.

The command is "/effect" followed by a target, the name of the effect, the number of seconds for the effect to last, the power of the effect (The maximum power for an effect is 255) and true or false to add or remove an effect (true or false is optional). When an effect is added, particles will swirl around the entity. The player can see their own effects at the right side of their screen.

You can clear all effect with "/effect [target] clear".

Syntax:
/effect [target] [name of effect] [time in seconds] [power of effect (0-255)] [true OR false (optional)]
/effect [target] clear

Here are some examples of effects:

/effect @s nausea 5 255

/effect @e[type=cow] levitation 2 100
